For businesses

The best business contacts are face to face. But you can’t be everywhere.

Your website, your mailshots, your brochures, your informational publications are often your one and only chance to make that key contact. They need to convey the quality of your offer.

Could you use a professional editor / proofreader?

Writing is one-way communication, unlike conversation. So if something in your document is not clear, your reader cannot ask you about it.

The closer you are to a text, the less easy it is to see it objectively. You wrote it. You see what you meant, but your reader may not. You need a fresh pair of eyes.

I will look at your document from a reader’s perspective. I will help to ensure that it is reader-friendly, and that your message is clear.

So, what does the editor / proofreader focus on?

  • ensuring you receive clear and helpful queries if necessary

Each job is unique, depending on a wide variety of factors:

  • the purpose and format of the text
  • the level of intervention needed

Once we have discussed the purpose and format of the text, I will probably need to see a sample to assess how much needs doing. From such a sample, I can provide an estimate for the job, based on an hourly rate of £24.25.

I won’t charge anything that we haven’t agreed in advance. It’s likely to be less than you think. Please contact me to discuss the job you have in mind.
